Amit Trivedi is not a new name in Bollywood, especially in the music industry. Born on 11th July 1979, the extremely talented musician Amit is a maestro in what he does. He started his musical voyage with a fusion band called 'OM' during his college days. He was a team player but 'OM' failed to get recognition despite Times Group releasing its album.
Amit being a dreamer wanted change and explored new ideas, met various people in the industry. He composed some tracks for Abhijeet Sawant's Junoon and one track in Prashant Tamang's debut album.
Finally, singer Shilpa Rao introduced Amit to the director Anurag Kashyap for his film 'Dev D'. Kashyap liked Amit's composition to such an extent that he changed the film to a musical. A creative Cancerian, Amit had to struggle a lot before this opportunity came to him. 'Dev D' was supposed to be his first musical release but it got delayed. Later he was recommended by Kashyap for the thriller 'Aamir' which was his first film. His musical talent was appreciated by everyone, including the critics.
He won the National Award for Best Music Director for Dev D in 2009. His next award winning album was 'Udaan' that was highly acclaimed across the globe and music was given the wonderful response. Despite all this fame and recognition, Amit remains down-to-earth. He has, at present, 10+ movies to be released in future.
He made his Hollywood debut in 2011 with Micael Winterbottom’s Trishna starring Freida Pinto and Riz Ahmed. After A.R. Rahman, he is considered to be the best music composer at present.
