Indian cricket team opener Murali Vijay was playing exceptionally well and was making the Australian bowlers run for cover, but something happened in the third test match that overshadowed Murali’s second consecutive test century against Australia. The whole world witnessed the fastest ever Test century on a player’s debut match in the history of cricket. Who was the player? Shikhar Dhawan…! Yes! Shikhar Dhawan, a newbie in this format of cricket, smashed the Australian bowlers and scored 187 and ensured India’s win in the third test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He reached 100 runs in only 85 balls. His knock erased the sincere efforts of the Australian team that made 408 in its first innings.
The 27-year-old Delhite Dhawan made his One Day international cricket Debut with a zero but his test debut was mind boggling. Being a Sagittarius, he learnt from his previous mistakes and didn’t waste the opportunity that came his way. When Virendra Sehwag couldn’t satisfy the selectors with his frequent poor performances on the batting field, Dhawan was called in. And he not only proved himself but became an overnight hero of the cricket world.
Though his ruling number is 5, it seems that the number 7 is lucky for him. The date he set the record was 16-03-2013. The sum of the numbers comes to 1+6+0+3+2+0+1+3 = 16 --> 1+6 = 7. He scored a whopping 187 runs, again the sum total of 7. That was a ‘Lucky Seven’ for Dhawan who was born on 5th December 1985.
Dhawan is an excellent communicator and very artistic on the field. He loves to play with his moustache. This got him a nick name i.e. Gabbar. He has a very distinct style that he loves to flaunt. After experiencing failure, he has developed his own individual style and value system. He seems to have matured into a person with original ideas.
With such talent, the Indian cricket squad has an upper hand on the other cricket nations. We wish record-breaking success to this young and Dabangg Indian cricketer.
