The Millennial Love For Astrology

With the ‘Internet of Things’ and ‘Data Science’ taking the driver seat in the new age, Astrology has certainly not been forgotten when we want to know about our future. There is something that has happened in the last 5 years that has given it an excitement, a relevance for this time and place, that it has not had for a good 35 years. Millennials have taken it and run with it - as said by Chani Nicholas, an astrologer based out of Los Angeles.

It is at times of anxiety or stress that people turn to astrology for guidance or corrective measures to their actions and life or just for an ease of heart. In particular, this turning point relatively seems to be with social roles of the individual and his or her relationships. In 1982, psychologist Graham Tyson conducted a small study on the reason why people turn to astrologers. 'It is under conditions of high stress, the individual is prepared to use astrology as a coping device although during low-stress times the individual will not believe in it'.

Millennials and Generation X'ers are a sect of the population that feels the heavy load of stress due to the surrounding factors such as news, propaganda news, insecurities of social life, job insecurities, the stability of finances, social stigmas, physical appearances and much more. However, Astroyogi offers astrological advice to those concerned of crisis-an imagination of a better future. Cliche' Truism's are also evidently imperative at this juncture: This too shall pass.

In this current age of social media overload, there is a craving for something new. Regardless of how one's social media life looks great or normal, the question always remains: what is in store for life for me? People feel powerless on earth which is precisely why they turn to astrology. Astrology is a paradox. When people find zodiac themed listicles online showing celebrities in terms of their own zodiac sign on why they are for who they are, people also feel connected. All this is because of the online culture.

Just take a look of the wonderful people born under the zodiac sign Capricorn- A.R.Rahman, K.J. Yesudas, Mohammed Rafi, Nana Patekar, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi and even Uday Chopra! A multitude of reasons for Capricorns out there to feel connected and proud as well. Truth be told, a lot of Millennials and Generation X'ers may not even know some of these celebrities!
