Tiger Zinda Hai is the second instalment of the Tiger film series, which is produced by Aditya Chopra and is due for release before Christmas, on 22 December 2017. While the first movie, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’(2012), was directed by Kabir Khan, Tiger Zinda Hai is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Both the movies have Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif as the leading pair. Stated to be one of the most expensive ‘Yash Raj Films’ productions, the film’s trailer, that was released on 6 November 2017, broke records within 24 hours of its release on YouTube, with more than 29 million views.
Such is the fan following of Salman Khan and so much is the pairing of Katrina and Salman appreciated, that in spite of critics rating any of their films, 2-3 stars, their movies open with 100% occupancy even at multiplexes.
And so it was with the earlier ‘Tiger’ film, which had ended becoming the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2012, in spite of having quite a few flaws.
Tiger Zinda Hai, is an action thriller film, based on the 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by a terrorist group. Like the previous film, this too is shot in multiple countries. It continues with the story of the two super spies, Tiger and Zoya from Ek The Tiger, eight years later. When trouble brews in foreign land again, Tiger and Zoya, presumed dead, resurface to embark on a seemingly impossible rescue mission.
Salman, who is perfect for such an action-demanding role, can portray romance with equal aplomb, especially with Katrina, as they share a certain chemistry on screen. The fact that Salman Khan has himself performed the stunts in this film, will find his fans going into a frenzy and idolising him more. Nothing could make his fans hyperventilate for more; than Salman in action…on the war field and romancing…at the same time.
