What is Tarot Card Reading?

Tarot cards have been a channel for Divine information for centuries. The die-hard believers may think of it as a magical tool and the messages it conveys, as the word of God. In reality, Tarot cards do not predict the future. It is simply a tool to help you access psychic information.

The archetypal imagery used in each of the cards gives specific and profound messages that a clairvoyant decodes into words for the querent. A reader uses his mind, heart and soul while reading the cards to tap into the universal energy with his intuition while guiding the seeker.

A tarot deck normally consists of 78 cards which are divided into two sets; the Major Arcana cards and the Minor Arcana cards.

The Major Arcana cards are also called the Trump Cards and are 22 in number. They are numbered from 1 to 21 while one card is unnumbered and considered to be number Zero. Each card has a different picture on it and also a name. They represent the life lessons and the karmic influences that one needs to know about one’s soul’s journey to enlightenment.

 The Minor Arcana is also called the Lessor Arcana and 56 in number. These are further subdivided into four suits consisting of 14 cards each. The four suits are-Cups, Wands, Pentacles, Swords. Each suit represents a different area of your life.

While the Cups describe your emotional life, Wands tell you about your career, abilities or potential, Pentacles correspond to your physical or material status and the Swords describe your mental to intellectual state. Thus, these cards describe what you are going through every day-your emotions, thoughts, struggles etc.

Out of the 14 cards in each suit, four Court cards represent real people in your life or describes a particular attribute. So, out of the 56 Minor Arcana cards, 16 are Court cards.

When you ask a tarot card reader a question, the reader shuffles the deck while asking the question. There are different ways of shuffling and cutting of the deck before the cards are pulled out one by one and placed in a spread, face down.

The tarot reader answers your question, based on his interpretation of the images on the cards. He also takes into account the symbols and colours used in the cards.

A good reading depends on several things like;

a) How good is the interpretation of the tarot reader?

b) How you frame the question to the tarot. (It is very important that the question which you ask is clear and direct. Vague questions will give you vague answers.)

The tarot cards are not only used for getting guidance in a particular situation, but it is also a very powerful tool for spiritual enlightenment.

In reality, each of us has the innate ability to find the answers to most of the questions. But what we lack is the skill to focus and tap into our unconscious mind to seek it out. The Clairvoyants help us do that.
