Everyone's favourite mantra....'Live in the Moment' and then no one follows it.
So easy isn't it for everyone to talk of living in the moment.... when they don't know your past? They don't know all the terrible things that have happened to you. How mean your father was. How your ex broke your heart. How sad and miserable you are because your mother was never supportive of you. How the lack of money in your home was humiliating for you. You can't possibly live in the moment, because you are too busy reliving the past. Sound familiar?
An early morning conversation a few days ago with a distraught friend was ironic as she ranted and raved about her parents inability to live in the moment and value all they have. And then proceeded in the same conversation to go back yet again to how horrible her childhood was. How her father did not love her and her mother did not have her back. While her pain of the past is real, her great present is real too. She's successful if one looks at success from only a money viewpoint, she's funny and yet regularly sets foot into the "Time Machine into the Past." To be honest, it's not just her, many people do.
How often we put ourselves through conversations, incidences again and again and yet again. We do it with family, we do it with friends and if we don't have a willing listener our brain is on standby to listen to our stories. We allow our memory to play this "I am miserable because...." song on loop.
Most popular: 👉 Is Who You Are, The Same as What You Are?
We discuss it with anyone who will endorse and rationalise our misery. "You poor girl, that's so sad." Once is fine, twice is fine but how many times is one too many?
Despite the negative monologue, we aspire for happiness and good fortune. How is that possible? It's not!
The more negative our conversations, the lower our vibration, the lower our vibration, the less likelihood of manifesting the happiness we are so desperately seeking. Our vibration holds the key to setting ourselves free. The highest vibration is when we don't use our memory at all, we just use this very moment as it is meant to be used. For work, for laughing, for crying, for singing, for sleeping, for eating or simply just being. Till we are in the next moment and then the next.
If you truly want to raise your vibration... start the morning by thinking or writing down (you can use my Yogii gratitude journal if you like) about three things you are deeply grateful for in your life and then get on with your day. Be aware throughout the day that this day will never ever come back again. If you can't stay in the moment, at the very least stay in the day. Smile a lot even if you have no reason to and make sure whatever words you use throughout are positive. This very act of self awareness will raise your vibration one day at a time.

If you can be conscious of your blessings… say 'thank you universe for this hot cup of tea', 'thank you universe for my mother calling, thank you, for the opportunity to share my thoughts on the Yogii blog', and you will unfold a little bit of the magic that is available to everyone should you choose to live in the moment. In 40 days you will see the change for yourself.
Please remember that the magic will not happen overnight, it too will happen one magical moment at a time.
