From the point of view of nature, this month is important as it is of religious importance. The Falgun month consists of 2 very popular festivals, celebrated on a large scale across the country. Mahashivratri, the worship festival of Lord Bholenath and Holi, the festival of colors, is celebrated this month. Come, let us know about the importance of this month and the festivals that come in it.

Importance of Fagun Maas

Major festivals like Mahashivratri and Holi are celebrated in Phagun month, due to which the religious and cultural significance of this month is considered very high. Lord Bholenath is worshiped, as he sits as Holika on fire to protect his devotee Prahlad. Apart from this, males and females all over the country celebrate Holi with color on the next day. This festival also shows the importance of our cultural unity by forgetting discrimination. It is believed that the moon originated from Atri and Anusuya on the full moon of the month of Phalgun; hence the worship of Chandrodaya is also done while singing and dancing with the instruments. Since it is the last month of the Hindu year, most religious festivals are held this month. In South India, a temple festival called Uttir is held on the full moon day of the month of Phalgun. Not only this, if Falgun Dwadashi is with Shravan Nakshatra, then there is also a belief of fasting for Lord Vishnu on this day.
