Rudraksha signifies Lord Shiva as Rudra stands for Lord Shiva and Aksha for Shiva’s tears. It is believed that Lord Shiva did penance for a thousand years and after getting tired of keeping his eyes closed for such a long time, he opened them and that is when a few teardrops fell to the ground and it is from these tears, Rudraksha beads were formed.
There is a lot of significance accorded to the Rudraksha as per our scriptures. It helps the wearer get rid of all his troubles. However, it is usually said that only men should wear Rudraksha but this is a myth. There are various kinds of Rudrakshas but three of them are most significant. They are as follows:
Out of these three, Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is given a lot of importance. Women can also wear this rudraksha and it is considered very beneficial for improving their marital ties. It is also recommended for childless couples. However certain things need to be taken care of before wearing this rudraksha. For instance, before sleeping, one must keep it at a puja place. Don’t give your rudraksha to the other person and don’t wear someone else’s rudraksha. Women are advised to not wear it during their menstrual cycle.
This rudraksha combines the blessings of both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as it represents Shiva and Shakti. It improves the wearer’s financial condition and also has a positive influence on the other spheres such as career, marriage and business. It brings peace and harmony in the family and improves the relations between the wearer and his/her close ones.
How to wear Gauri Shankar Rudraksha
You can wear it directly on a morning after taking bath and chant Om Namah Shivay 108 times and the Beej mantra 9 times optionally. Beej mantra for Gauri Shankar Rudraksha is Om GauriShankaraya Namah.
