Each Nakshatra is divided into three Nadis in Vedic astrology:

Madhya nadi

Nadi is one of the eight aspects known as ‘Ashtakootas’ which are considered for the ‘Kundli matching’-Compatibility analysis in Vedic astrology. Each aspect amongst the eight is given points or gunas and in total there are 36 gunas, out of which 8 gunas are credited to Nadi. Nadi has the maximum gunas associated with it and hence it is very critical when it comes to match making. If partners belong to different Nadis, then they get full eight points otherwise they get zero and is declared as a dosha.
We are all aware of the fact that ‘Like poles repel and unlike poles attract each other’, and this is what exactly happens when two people, who are of the same Nadi, marry each other. In such a case, both partners will have similar tendencies usually. Nadi Dosha can lead to friction and turbulence between the couple and in most extreme cases it can even lead to divorces. It can also cause diseases and accidents for the couple. However, there are certain exceptions such as if the nak of the couple is different, that leads to the cancellation of this dosha. If both of them have the same nakshatra but different zodiacs that is also it is seen as an exception.
