Player to watch out for: Kvitova

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is making all the right noises and her phenomenal performance in recent tournaments makes her a top contender for future grand slam titles. She won six titles this year and is behind Caroline Wozniacki by a meagre 115 points. Petra is clearly the rising star in the women’s game and next season it will most likely be all about her.

Kvitova remains silent all through the match but we can tell she has what it takes to dominate and conquer. She is a big girl, 182 cm in height, which gives her the ability to unleash rocket serves (she fired a total of 36 aces at Wimbledon this year, the third-most by any woman at the All England Club). The towering Czech can also generate razor-sharp groundstrokes on both sides and feels comfortable charging at the net at any time.

Astrologically, she belongs to the zodiac sign Pisces. She was born on March 8, 1990. She is flexible and has a noble demeanour. She is not the kind to get easily swayed by others. Petra will achieve many things in life, if she remains focused and is not distracted by matters in her personal life.

2012 will be a good year for Kvitova. She will be confident going into the first grand slam – The Australian Open 2012. She will play well and is likely to reach the Semi Final. A win is not indicated for her early in the year. She will play much better on grass court tournaments and may even be declared the No.1 player in the 2012 WTA Rankings. Kvitova will have better chances at reclaiming the Wimbledon title, if injuries do not come in her way. There’s a lot more of Kvitova that’s in store and the next season will be a proof of that.
