Yoni Koota in Kundli Matching

Yoni Koota is the 4th aspect of the bride and groom which is checked in the Vedic astrology Kundli Matching, which considers the Ashtkootas. Yoni Koota pertains to the marital harmony, physical attraction and sexual compatibility between the partners, and health of their off springs.

This is an important factor for a happy marriage because sexual compatibility increases sexual contentment between partners, and can even improve their marital compatibility.

According to their Yoni Koota natives are categorized into 14 groups which are named after an animal which has similar attributes. The 14 classes or categories are: Ashwa (Horse), Gaja (Elephant), Mesha (Goat), Sarpa (Snake), Swan (Dog), Marjar (Cat), Mushak (Rat), Gow (cow), Mahish (Buffalow), Vyaghra (Tiger), Mriga (Deer), Vanar (Monkey), Nakul (Mangoose), Simha (Lion).

Natives are categorized into these groups based upon their Nakshatra. But the categorization for male and female is different. For example, the Horse Yoni includes Aswani (Male Nakshatra) and Shatabhisha (Female Nakshatra), the Elephant Yoni- Bharani (Male Nakshatra) and Revati (Female Nakshatra) and so on.

Each Yoni describes sexual urges and the sexual compatibility of that Yoni with another. An expert Vedic astroger can find out about how dominating, adventurous, mild or submissive a person is by analyzing the Yoni they belong to.  To analyse marital compatibility, the points given to the combinations of two Yoni animals are assessed. The maximum points given to Yoni Koota is 4 points.

In the Yoni Koota matching procedure there are five combinations of Yoni Koota matches. The first type is between the same Yoni, which is given 4 points. The second one is between friendly Yonis which are given 3 points. These combinations include Sheep and Elephant, Snake and Horse, Monkey and Elephant etc.

Similarly there are Neutral Yonis which are given 2 points. Unfriendly or Enemy Yonis will score1 point, and lastly, Sworn Enemy Yonis will not be credited any points.
