Much was expected from the gorgeous daughter of one of the most talented actors’ of both Tolly and Bollywood; Kamal Haasan. Although Shruti Haasan is blessed with her mother, Sarika Thakur’s, fetching looks, this beauteous, husky voiced, foxy, charming 31 year old Aquarian, has failed to deliver at the Bollywood box office.
The talented Shruti started her career quite young in life at the age of 6, as a playback singer in a Tamil film ‘Thevar Magan’ and a cameo appearance as a child actor in her debut film, ‘Hey Ram’, directed by her father.
She got an average start in Bollywood, inspite of sharing screen space in ‘Luck’, with established actors like Mithun, Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan; doing better in the ‘home-ground’ where she played the female lead in the films, ‘Anaganga O Dheerudu’ and ‘7aum Arivu’.
Although Shruti has managed to grab a few ‘Filmfare Awards for Best Female Debut-South’ and some nominations for ‘Best Actress-South’, she doesn’t seem to be giving sleepless nights to the Bollywood actresses on the professional front!
But the Aquarian artistic and creative tendencies in her, has surfaced in the form of excellent singing and dancing. Shruti is passionate about composing songs and writing scripts.
This multi-faceted, seductive and intelligent (With a degree in Psychology) girl has, unfortunately, more controversies attached to her than success ‘raves’ !
• Shruti has been bold enough to admit going under the scalpel for a nose job, much to the shock of her fellow actresses and masses. But then thats Shruti for you - a non-conformist !
• Her leaked steamy dance pictures while shooting for ‘Yevadu’, got her more ‘searched’ on the net, than for any of her credentials. She was portrayed ‘trampish’ in posters of the film,’D-Day’ with Arjun Rampal.
• If all this was not enough, her live-in relationship with Siddharth and sordid affair with the married Dhanush, didn’t exactly do much for her flagging career.
• She seemed to be defying the norms, getting willingly photographed in a ‘liplock’ with Tamanna in public.
The tempest in Shruti could be a combination of her Aquarian trait and the fact that she had a troubled childhood because of her parents separation.
Born on 28 January 1986, the diva of Tollywood has 1 as her ruling number and her lucky days are Friday and Saturday. Number 1 bestows on her, the qualities of being growth oriented, strong, visionary, adventurous, freedom loving, spiritual; while the Aquarian air sign makes her restless, wanting to move ahead all the time. Lucky colours are orange, yellow and gold, the colours of the Sun, which rules Number 1.
2017 started well for Shruti with the release of Singam 3 in February but the later part of the year is not looking very rosy. She turned tables on her fans by opting out of Sangamithra, a trilingual big budget historic drama, inspite of training hard for her role and promoting the film at Cannes 2017 Film Festival.
But, with a dominant planet Saturn in her favour, there can be no looking back for the ‘full-of-life’, unconventional and unpredictable Shruti Haasan!
