Lord Ganesha is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism and is worshipped by thousands of people all over the country. He is considered to be the one who removes all obstacles and is often called Ganpati and Vinayaka by his devotees.
The son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha is also known as the God of beginnings. People invoke him at the start of every ritual and ceremony and seek his blessings so that no obstacle hinders the pious occasion.
It is said that Lord Ganesh represents wisdom, prosperity and spirituality. All these virtues are personified in the form of Lord Ganesh (Buddhi) and his consorts Siddhi (spirituality) and Riddhi (prosperity). The Shiva Purana states that he had two sons - Shubh and Labh - who represent auspiciousness and profit.
The unusual appearance of Lord Ganesh adds a mystic touch to his personality. He is shown to have an elephant head on a human body with four hands and a round belly. His upper hands carry a noose and an axe while one of the lower ones depicts a pose in Abhay Mudra. The other lower hand has a bowl full of Modaks (his favorite sweet dish). He is mounted on a mouse that is known as his ‘vahana’.
Lord Ganpati is considered to be a manifestation of accomplishment and knowledge. Various mantras are chanted to invoke this deity. All the mantras of Lord Ganesh have the power of spreading positive energy through the being of the reciter.

Take a bath or wash your hands and feet to purify your body from any kind of dirt. Place an idol of Lord Ganesh and make sure that you sit in the North or East direction.
Immerse yourself completely in the devotion of Lord Ganesh and recite the mantras 108 times using a rosary. It would be best if you recite it when you are alone as no one would disturb you. It is advised that you chant the mantra in a quiet place for a minimum of 40 days to take in all the positivity that it creates in your surroundings.
This mantra is the most significant of all Ganpati mantras as it is recited for wealth, wisdom and enlightenment. It is recited to please Lord Ganesh and his consorts - Goddess Riddhi and Goddess Siddhi.
“Vakratunda Maha-Kaaya Surya-Kotti Samaprabha
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvadaa ||”
Ganesh Mantra in Sanskrit
“वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ ।
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥”
Meaning of Ganesh Mantra
The mantra literally translates as - “Oh Lord with a curved trunk and powerful body, whose aura is equivalent to the light of crores of suns put together, always remove the obstacles that hinder my work and shower your blessings upon me.”

Basic Ganpati Mantra
“Om Gam Ganpataye Namah”
Meaning - This mantra is the most simple one that means - “We bow down to the Almighty Lord Ganesha and pray to him with all our being to bless us with his superior qualities.” The mantra is said to wipe out the negativity that surrounds a person and ensures that they get success in all their endeavors.
Ganesh Gayatri Mantra
“Aum Ekadantaya Viddhamahe, Vakratundaya Dhimahi,
Tanno Danti Prachodayat॥”
Meaning - We bow our heads in front of the Lord with a single elephant tusk who is present everywhere. We pray to the one with the curved trunk to bless us with wisdom and intelligence.
Siddhi Vinayak Mantra
“Om Namo Siddhi Vinayakaya Sarva kaarya kartrey Sarva vighna prashamnay Sarvarjaya Vashyakarnaya Sarvajan Sarvastree Purush Aakarshanaya Shreeng Om Swaha.”
Meaning - “Oh God of happiness and achievement, only you can make everything possible; you remove the hurdles of one’s path to success and every person in this universe is charmed with your magical powers, you are worshipped by all women and all men alike.”
